yukinozofan asked: Love your Sungyeol one-shot !! Can you continue this story? Sungyeol is my bias <33 I would be so happy ^^ Or any Sungyeol fanfic !! :D <3
Hehe I’m so glad you liked it! I don’t have a bias in Infinite because I just love them all so much, but Sungyeol’s definitely one of my favorites :) I will get to working on continuing the story! It should be up in a couple days, max.
Where did my followers go? I need interaction for my stories to keep going =___= I have an idea. The first person who requests something on the post will get that story written as soon as I have time, which begins tonight. Any bias, any story idea, go go go!
Tumblr requires me to put this question mark here?
Today was the big day. Today was Infinite’s third annual fan meeting, and unlike previous fan meetings, where you had always missed out because you arrived too late, this year you were determined to be one of the first 100 fans to arrive and finally get to meet Infinite in person. You’d been waiting forever and you couldn’t wait to finally see every member up and close. Especially Sungyeol, your bias.
Well, you don’t like to use that word, because to you it sounds like you lean more towards him than the other members. On the contrary, he was the only member you could see. Sure, you loved all the other members as well, but something about Sungyeol just always leaps out at you. His infectious laughter, his bright personality, his always joyful attitude. Some people say he’s naive, but to you he’s as smart as anyone could be. Maybe it was something only you could appreciate.
You were meeting your friend Minjoo at the fan meeting location because you two were coming from the opposite sides of Seoul. The event started at 10 am, and line-up started at 8:30. You are totally not a morning person at all, and it takes an hour to get to the fan meeting location at Times Square, a huge sixteen-story mall south of the river. That means you had to wake up at 7 am at the latest, in order to get dressed and run out the door. You woke you up at 7:15 am, after having pressed the snooze button half a dozen of times.
Still, you were determined. You were going to get there on time, and you were going to be one of the first 100 fans, you thought to yourself. It took approximately 45 minutes by subway, and then adding walking time, which was probably another 20 minutes, you had no time to spare. You just hoped and prayed there wouldn’t be hundreds of girls lined up waiting already.
You miss your first transfer train by just seconds, and by your calculations, you were now eight minutes behind schedule. You end up running all the way from the underground tunnel to the mall.
Minjoo was supposed to meet you on the second floor Smoothie King, but seeing as you were late, you texted her saying to just meet you at the event, which was on the fifth floor.
Once you arrived at the event, you could see several large crowds of girls gathered already. You were praying that there weren’t a hundred of them. Just then, the security guard came out and asked the waiting fans to start forming a line. You try to squeeze in as close to the front as possible, hoping to make it in. You looked around for Minjoo, but you couldn’t spot her anywhere. You made a mental note to make up an excuse to squeeze her in once she got there.
The line was moving so slowly. You checked your cell phone for the time and it was already 20 minutes past starting time. The girls in front of you looked like middle or high school girls - you weren’t sure which, but they sure looked young. One girl held a neon green sign with the words ‘Myungsoo I love you!’ and her friend brought a huge stuffed lemon. Ah, lemon candy, for Sungjong. You suddenly felt that your little present for Sungyeol was insufficient. All you had prepared was a card and a basket of banana-shaped lollipops, in light of Sungyeol’s vinegar banana challenge on Sesame Player. They seemed cute at the time, but you weren’t sure if you wanted to give Sungyeollie your lame present anymore.
Suddenly you were jolted out of your thoughts as your heard the girl with the giant stuffed lemon cry out, “But sir, I’ve waited for three hours! Those are my friends who just went in. I need to give Sungjong oopa his present!”
But the security guard would not budge. “I’m sorry, miss, but rules are rules. We can only allow 100 people into the fan meeting. You can wait outside and see the members as they come out after the event is over.”
The girl looked like she was on the verge of tears, and she eventually stormed off sulking. It just suddenly dawned on you that you also didn’t make the cut. You were angry, but not at the security guard. It was your own fault for not having woken up just a little bit earlier.
Dejected, you walk away, pulling out your cell phone. Minjoo still had not contacted you. You called her, and all you got was her voicemail. You were wondering if she had overslept. Oh well, you think to yourself. Next time.
You had just woken up, and now you were all exhausted from running, so you didn’t feel like going home yet. You decided to wait there until after the event was over. Maybe you would be able to get a glimpse of Sungyeol as he left with the other members.
You walk into a corner behind the event space and sit down, leaning against the wall. Sighing, you go through the gift bag you had prepared and pull out the card. You smiled, re-reading the letter you took so long to write and perfect.
Sungyeol oppa, happy third year of being in Infinite! I know you have had your struggles within the group, about not feeling confident to sing alone sometimes. I just want to let you know that I think your voice is beautiful, and that you deserve more lines on the next album. You have my support!
All of a sudden you were jolted from your reverie.
“Noona, can you help me with my zipper?”
That voice. That nasally, kiddish voice. You would recognize it anywhere. It couldn’t be. You look up and see Sungyeol in a full-body dinosaur costume.
“What are you doing, reading our fanmail? You know you’re not allowed to do that,” Sungyeol said with a childish sneer. He must have recognized the shocked look on your face, for he suddenly did a double take.
“Oh, you’re not coordi noona? Oh crap, I swore she went out this way. I’m so sorry! You looked just like her from far away.” He looked down as he said, “Only prettier,” shyly under his breath.
You could feel your face flush. “What did you say?” you couldn’t help but ask.
“Oh, nothing, I was just being stupid, nothing at all.” He shuffled his feet, looking all around, anywhere but at you. There was an awkward silence. ”Well then, I’ll be off!” he said finally. Slightly wobbling, he turned around and started to head off in the opposite direction, but you realized you couldn’t miss this opportunity.
“Wait!” you said.
He stopped abruptly, and turned back eagerly. “What?” he said, his voice full of curiosity.
“I…have something to give you. I couldn’t make it into the fan meeting, so here,” you said, shoving the gift bag into Sungyeol’s arms.
He looked surprised, dumb-struck, even. And then his face lit up into the cheekiest grin. “For me?” he asked, as of unable to believe his ears.
Blushing furiously, you nod. “It’s not much, but I thought you might like it -“
“Mmhmm, it’s delicious!” Sungyeol had already unwrapped the lollipop and was now chewing on it happily. “Here, you have one too!” He held out his hand, and gestured for you to do the same. You held out your hand nervously, and he placed one of the lollipops in your palm, and clasped your hand shut.
“Listen, I have to go now, but thank you so much! Please come to our next concert. Tell the security guard that you’re staff. I’ll be able to recognize you right away,” he said, winking. And before you knew it, he had hugged you. It was the hug you had always dreamed of. The hug that thousands of fangirls probably dreamed of. It was a stronger hug than you had imagined. He looked rather thin on shows, but now you could feel his strong arms on yours as he held you tightly. You could smell his citrusy shampoo on his hair, even through the dinosaur costume.
As he ran off, you stood there speechless. Before he rounded the corner, he looked back and smiled at you, a smile that completely melted your heart. He clutched the present to his chest, just like a kid who received his first Christmas gift from Santa. And then he was out of sight.
In a daze, you spent the rest of the morning walking around the mall, looking at everything and nothing at all. You couldn’t see anything other than Sungyeol in his funny dinosaur costume, and you smiled to yourself.
When it was noon, you returned to the event space, and you could see the members walking out with their managers. Sungyeol was no longer wearing his dinosaur costume. Instead, he looked so handsome in a black blazer and a casual v-neck t-shirt. He spotted you, and waved at you with both hands back and forth, as if calling for an SOS. You catch his eye and he smiled his crooked smile, leaving your heart racing. The managers were ushering the members away, and you tried to follow them, but the security guards were blocking the way. And then he was gone. And so followed the throngs of fan girls, running after them. You finally spot Minjoo as she runs towards you.
“Ah, there you are! I didn’t see you in there! Ohmygosh, it was so amazing! Sungyeol was wearing this crazy ridiculous dinosaur costume, like he does in his selcas, and he even did a funny little dance in it. I didn’t get to take any pictures for you, unfortunately. My battery died, you see. You should’ve been there,” she added as an afterthought, but she looked too excited to be truly sorry for you.
“It’s okay, there’s always next time,” you said, smiling. And you meant it. You couldn’t wait.

Post: A one-shot! A totally different change of pace. This style of writing is completely different than my Myungsoo one, so I hope you guys are okay with the change. I’ve been wanting to write a Sungyeol one for a while, because his personality is just so different than Myungsoo’s, but I wasn’t sure what to do with him. Since this is a one-shot, I might write a longer one for Sungyeol later. There may be some awkward grammar, because I’m writing this in a very exhausted state. Sorry about that! By the way, this story isn’t autobiographical, but it combines a bunch of experiences my friends had while in Korea :)
If I didn’t mention this before, the submit box is totally open, if you guys want to request any biases or story situations for me. I’m very open to requests as of now, since I am pretty new at this still. Again, feedback is very much appreciated!
themilktomytea asked: Awwww your Myungsoo scenario was so beautiful I love it <3
Ah thank you so much! Your feedback means a lot to me :)
